Cleone Cassidy (the pretty one) and Gleb Toropov (the
hairy one), live and work together in London. Cleone is
rather well known in sunny South Africa, having been a top
radio DJ and TV personality there. She is the voice you can
hear narrating the AUDIOBOOK and (for people who enjoy
trivia) she is also the voice of the safety announcer on
South African Airline flights (versatile huh?) Cleone has a
black belt in karate (so mess with her at your peril!) and
she attained pro grade in show jumping on a horse called
Moose. There seems to be no end to this woman's talents! If
you want to get on her good side, buy her licorice and
chocolate, but beware - she can't stand marzipan because it
reminds her of couscous, which she HATES with a vengeance!
Gleb was born in not-so-sunny, freezing Russia and
didn't see a real pineapple until he moved to the UK
together with his family, aged 11. As a teenager Gleb had
his eyes set on becoming a professional tennis player, but
after going to university started writing for film and TV
(go figure). Inspired by Cleone's futile attempts at giving
him a makeover (although he is now cleanly shaven) Gleb
started writing and illustrating his first book. The book
took six months to complete, but finally, after many
arguments, it is finished and work has already begun on the
sequel: "Little Miss Mary and The Monster Boutique". Gleb
loves marinated artichokes and olives. He HATES muesli
because of his pathological fear of raisins, but strangely,
not sultanas. Hmmm.
